The Halpern Homestead Deals with Loss

There's a farm near the Palouse Highway that has seen quite the drama for their family of animals. I've been following their saga ever since I came to their door step just to buy some plants from their green house. That's how I met Pierre, the goose. She was lovely and soft. Wait, Pierre? A girl? Indeed. That's what happens when you don't know the sex of an animal early on. I met her during a sad situation. She had just lost her mate, Sophie (a boy), to a coyote attack. The Halpern Homestead blog documents what happened and the weeks after.

We found out how Ms. Pierre was dealing with the loss of her life partner, Mr. Sophie. She seemed very lonely. It broke my heart. So, after perusing craigslist for a over a week and coming up dry, I finally found a nice couple that had rescued two paired geese and were trying to find good homes for them. - Read more at The Halpern Homestead: Pierre Gets Some Companions
