DNR raises Spokane County fire danger rating to 'High'
News

Effective midnight Tuesday, the Department of Natural Resources is upgrading the fire danger rating in Spokane County from moderate to high.

DNR also upgraded the fire danger rating to high in Lincoln County and portions of Stevens County.

On July 5, the fire danger rating is being increased from low to moderate in Okanogan and Pend Oreille counties.

Additionally, a statewide burn ban on all DNR lands was put into effect on Monday. The burn ban, put into place to reduce human-caused wildfires, runs through Sept. 30 and includes all forest lands in Washington except for federal lands.

Campers are encouraged to check in at local campgrounds to see if there are additional burn restrictions in place.
