County vehicle licensing office closed til Tuesday | News
The Motor Vehicle and Vessel Licensing Office is closed today (Friday, Feb. 22) through Monday, Feb. 25. The office is moving from the north corner of the County Courthouse annex to the first floor of the Spokane County Courthouse and will reopen on Tuesday, February 26.
This move is the third phase in the development of the “Customer Service Center” on the first floor of the Courthouse. The Assessor’s customer service personnel and the Auditor’s Recording Office moved into the customer service center during phase one and phase two.
Spokane County Commissioner Todd Mielke said the move is another step in the County's plan to improve customer service on the County campus, "Other jurisdictions have been following the County's lead in creating these customer service centers. Our goal is to locate all of our primary customer services to the first floors of Courthouse and Public Works buildings." Mielke added that the next step will be to re-locate the family law courtroom to the second floor and bring the Treasurer's customer service counter to the first floor of the Courthouse.
Customers who need to register or title their vehicles, renew their tabs, or transfer mobile home titles can still conduct their business at any of the eight privately operated subagents. The subagent offices are conveniently located throughout Spokane County. The only service that is not available during the two days of closure is the immediate, over-the-counter issuance of titles, referred to as “quick titles.”
