U.S. Bank announced Tuesday that the Spokane County United Way is the beneficiary of $60,000 of employee contributions and corporate gifts.

“U.S. Bank is committed to making a positive and lasting impact in the community,” Linda Elkin, Spokane market president for U.S. Bank, said in a news release. “By supporting Spokane County United Way, which has been improving lives in the region for over 90 years, we are able to amplify that impact.”

U.S. Bank and the United Way partner across the country as the charity organization is the sole partner for the bank's employee giving campaign. According to the news release, U.S. Bank raised more than $12.5 million countrywide over 2012.

“The generosity of U.S. Bank leadership and their employees reflects how much they care about the community where they live and work,” Blake Pang, Spokane County United Way Vice President of Resource Development, said. “Over the past two years, they have more than doubled their donations to United Way. That's a great investment that will help improve lives and create a healthier, more prosperous community for everyone.”
