SUV smashes into Spokane Fire truck responding to structure fire | News

Spokane Fire confirms one of their trucks was involved with a vehicle accident near 29th and Ray on Monday morning.

Engine 8 was responding to a nearby structure fire call just after 11 a.m. when the female driver of a SUV hit the truck in the intersection. The driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. 

Fire spokesperson Brian Schaeffer says there was only minor damage to the front bumper of the fire truck. It will be taken out of service while they repair it. 

Another engine was able to respond to the structure fire call.
