Comstock Pool closed due to mechanical malfunction | News

A broken pump has put the summer fun at Comstock Pool on hold for the weekend. The pump began to malfunction Thursday afternoon prompting the closure and the search for a new part.

The recreation supervisor with Spokane Parks, Carl Strong, says the pump motor part is no longer made so they’re waiting for another company to find them the right part. He expects a new part to be shipped in by Monday.

Replacing the pump motor will cost the city about $2,000.

Activities at the pool are cancelled through Monday. Any programs scheduled for Monday, and possibly Tuesday, will be transferred to Liberty Pool, located at 1300 E. 5th Ave.
