We may have retired from full on cupcake journalism a few months ago, but here's some cupcake news that also has some alcohol relevance. Local bloggers and bakers, Sweet and Stout got hitched over the weekend so congratulations to Jackie and Dylan Waidelich on their marriage.
A few months ago, they received Kickstarter funds to put together their cupcake/beer business which is when we previously wrote about them.
From their blog, here's a recipe for something you can make yourself. You can use a bock, or any kind of stout, to make chocolate whiskey and beer cupcakes.
New microbrewery opening in Newman Lake
A new microbrewery is popping up in Newman Lake. Knucklehead Brewing has been brewing for a couple months, but they now have their brewing license from the Washington State Liquor Control Board. The brewery will be located at 25011 E. Trent.
According to their Facebook page, they're hoping to have an IPA brewed in time for IPA Day on August 2.
New Spokane Valley Walmart acquires liquor license
Though it's still under construction, the new Walmart in Spokane Valley has applied for its liquor license for beer, wine and spirits.
The company broke ground at its 5025 E. Sprague location on December 15 and reported last year that the construction would take 14 months making completion in 2013.
