Injured bald eagle still alive and recovering

We checked in with Glenn the injured bald eagle this afternoon who is staying at Mt. Spokane Veterinary Hospital while he recovers from being hit by a car almost two weeks ago. He’s doing much better according to hospital staff who sent us the above photo taken today.

Dr. Luther McConnell says he’s eating voraciously and hasn’t regurgitated anything in a long time. At this point, McConnell is waiting on toxicology tests to come back in a week or so to say if the eagle had any poisoning.

The man who brought the eagle to the hospital says he was hit by a car. McConnell says there’s no fractures in his body, but he does have a wing that’s drooping.

“Overall, he’s stronger and hungrier. He’s in a spot where we won’t do anything with him more than a couple times a day. We like to keep it quiet,” McConnell said. “It’s going to be a long recovery. There’s no estimate on time. This could be weeks or months.”
