Now in its 49th year, the Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol Ski Swap has come to be known as the kickoff event for the winter season in the Inland Northwest. The Swap is the region’s largest winter sports equipment and clothing sales event, featuring more than 22,000 new and used winter sports items sold by both individuals and local sporting goods stores.
New to the Swap this year, Mt. Spokane is offering an expanded learning center featuring a Learn-to-Ski ramp where Mt. Spokane’s top instructors will be available to teach kids how to ski!
Also new this year, the Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol will be hosting an exclusive VIP party and fundraiser on Friday, October 25th. Guests will enjoy a hosted bar serving beers by Alaskan Brewing Co. and hors d oeuvres from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. Additionally, VIP guests can pre-shop the Swap, getting first pick at all the great gear without the lines or crowds. Tickets for this event are limited and can be purchased online for $50 and will include a Thursday lift ticket to Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park.
Guests who pre-purchase their $12 Swap admission tickets online will receive early entry into the warm atrium and exhibitor spaces Saturday at 8:00 am, shopping starts at 9:00 am. The ticket price also includes a $10 Liftopia voucher and a free Thursday lift ticket to Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard park (a $40 value). Regular admission will be available at the door for $5. Admission is valid for the whole weekend and children 12 and younger are free.
The Swap is open for shopping on Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Sunday from 9:00 am to Noon. Visitors who come back to shop the Swap on Sunday will receive a 25% discount on specially marked items. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early Saturday; children’s gear and clothing is among the first to go and the amount of snowboarding equipment continues to sell fast as boarding popularity has continually increased.
The public can register gear on Friday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the West side entrance of the Fair and Expo center. All winter sports gear that is in good, clean condition and is DIN approved (made after 1990) is welcome. No admission fee is charged for item registration.
The Ski Swap is the primary source of funding for the Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol (MSSP), a local 501(c)3 charitable non-profit. MSSP is committed to skier safety and education and to providing the finest first aid care possible to the guests of Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park.
