High School Students Awarded at Environmental Conference | Environment
Three local high school students won superior awards for their projects displaying knowledge in environmental science at the 16th Annual Spokane Youth Environmental Conference at Spokane Community College on June 5.
Participants included junior high and high school students from Lakeside High School, Riverpoint Academy, The Community School and West Valley City School. The students chose topics that explored environmental science through oral or poster presentations. Participating schools received a grant for their science program
Rebecca Manly a 10th grader from The Community School, and Travis Poppen and Anne Kurzmann both in Lakeside High School's 11th grade class were the winners of the superior awards. These students won an Auntie's Bookstore gift certificate.
