Trumpeter Swans Spotted Near Cheney | Environment
A group of Trumpeter Swans were spotted about five miles west of Cheney on Friday. Virginia Moravec took the above and sent it to the station. She wasn't sure if they were ducks or geese, but actually, they're a type of swan!
Trumpeters are common in the Cheney area especially around Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge.
One of our newscast producer saw this photo of the swans and immediately noted on their habit to mate for life. Cue the, "Awwwwww!" moment.
