Homeowner catches tool thief in the act | Crime
It took a PIT maneuver to stop a thief in north Spokane County Thursday afternoon.
A homeowner called in the theft just after it happened. The victim had only been gone for ten minutes when he came home to find Harold A. Willey, 52, stealing tools. When Willey saw the homeowner drive up, he sped off in his truck, with the tools.
Sgt. McNall was patrolling nearby when he spotted Willey as he drove through the intersection of Argonne & Bruce Rd. McNall attempted to pull him over, but a Willey refused, accelerating further down Bruce Rd.
Spike strips ste up at Bruce Rd. and Hwy 206 failed to stop Willey. He simply drove around them. After the successful PIT maneuver in a roundabout at Bruce Rd & Hwy 206, Willey was taken into custody by Sgt. McNall without incident.
Willey was booked into Spokane County jail for 2nd Degree Burglary, Attempting to Elude and Resisting Arrest.
