Truck stolen from Spokane Humane Society

The Spokane Humane Society is dealing without their 1993 F-150 Ford pickup truck after it was stolen from their location sometime on Sunday, August 11, 2013 and they are hoping that they get the 20 year old white F-150 pickup back in one piece.

Employees arrived at work last Monday to find that the truck was missing and had to scramble to find a way to pick-up much needed donations that morning without the organizations only reliable pick-up.

“The ole girl has our logo on the doors and sticks out like a sore thumb; it’s a bit of a beater, but we have kept her limping down the road with the help of Bill’s Auto Parts and donated mechanical help” said Dave Richardson, Executive Director, “We are very dependent on the truck to pick up donations of all kinds” he continued.

The organization’s fleet is old and has been a low funding priority. The Society has always relied on the community to help keep them rolling and the loss of the truck couldn’t have come at a worse time as the organization is collecting books for its annual Booktober Fest book sale and auction items for its 14th Annual FurrBall Dinner, Dance and Auction.

“This time of year donations are down and every penny is needed just to keep the critters fed and medicated; every bit counts for an organization that relies solely on donations” said Richardson, “ we really need that  truck back, because we just do not have the funds to replace it”.
