USA Boxing reaches deal with Northern Quest

USA Boxing announced Tuesday that it has found its temporary home in the Spokane area.

Northern Quest Resort & Casino will play host to the USA National Boxing Championships through 2016. Northern Quest partnered with the Spokane Sports Commission, the Hub Sports Center and USA Boxing to make the deal possible.

“We're absolutely thrilled that USA Boxing selected our resort to host the National Championships for the next four years,” Phil Haugen, Northern Quest GM, said in a news release. “Spokane continues to make a name for itself as the successful host of a variety of world-class sporting events. The U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Women's Boxing held here last year in February were well received by our community and well attended by local regional and national audiences. We value our partnership with USA Boxing and look forward to bringing the nation's most talented female and male boxers back to Spokane.”

The 2013 USA Boxing National Championships will kick off the last week of March, with weigh-ins beginning at the casino on March 31. Preliminary fights will start Monday, April 1 and end Thursday, April 4 at the Hub Sports Center in Spokane Valley. The final two rounds of the tournament will be in Northern Quest's Pend Oreille Pavilion on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6.

Prices range from $5 to $40 “depending on the level of event.” All-session passes are available for $100 until March 1. You can order tickets online or by phone at 1-877-871-6772.
